Annual CCC Russian River Canoe Adventure
Save Saturday, July 21st for our annual canoe trip,
organized by Frank Valone.
We'll use Russian River Adventures again this year
and once again we will do the 9-mile full day adventure.
Check their website for general details and to register:
Cost is $65 per adult.
Children ages 2 to 12 are $30, and dogs are $10.
There is another large group canoeing that day, and it's possible there won't be enough canoes to handle our group, so ...
after you register, please email Frank to let him know you plan to come
and how many are in your party and how many people/dogs will go in each canoe.
Russian River Adventure's canoes can handle one, two or three people.
Try to create pairs or trios yourself and then register as a group. Individuals can also register for a single canoe, but please add that information
to the comment section of the registration form.
If you need help please contact Frank.
Plan to bring food to share for lunch on the river.
After the trip we'll have a pizza party in the park near where we put into the river.
"This is a 9-mile long floating party where we channel our inner child.
I hope you can join us this year."
Marin Century Bike Ride
It's time to form our awesome CCC team of volunteers for the Marin Century, to be held on Saturday, August 4th, with start and finish at the Marin County Fairgrounds. Six great riding routes bring over 3,000 cyclists to Marin for the day. We will volunteer at the Fairgrounds: early morning shift get riders underway; early and late afternoon shifts feed tired, hungry riders. Those of us who have done this before know it is lots of fun, and if you haven’t volunteered before, I urge you to do so this year. CCC is rewarded $1,500 for our efforts!
Please contact Bill Eichhorn to sign up and indicate when you would prefer to volunteer. Specific times will be assigned later:
CCC Family Retreat ~ September 1-3
We’re getting ready for our annual Labor Day weekend retreat! This is a wonderful opportunity to deepen old friendships and begin new ones at the beautiful River’s Bend retreat center, nestled in the trees and beside the Navarro River.
There will be a silent auction again this year, a fundraiser for the retreat scholarship fund, so please start thinking about that special item or service that you would like to donate to the auction. We will begin collecting items soon ~ new or barely used, at a minimum of $25 on up. Examples of services you could donate: voice lessons, tennis lessons, flower arranging, home organizing or cleaning.
Questions about the retreat? Contact Joanne in the CCC office: (415) 435-9108, or email
firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope to see you there!
