Since 1990, we have been blessed with the presence most Sundays of our wildly talented musical director Scott DeTurk, pianist and composer. Scott provides the music for our 10:00 am service, accompanying lively congregational singing and/or playing reflective pieces which invite us into a deeper meditative mood. Go to academy-deturk.com to learn about Scott's musical academy.
Scott also serves as accompanist and interim director for the CCC Choir, which meets for formal rehearsals on the first Wednesday of the month, and also at 9:15 on Sunday mornings. Choral selections favor spirited gospel and global music, but also include hymns and other inspirational music, both old and new, at the director's discretion. All are welcome to sing with the choir by arriving at 9:15 and taking a place around the grand piano.
Throughout the year we create special musical events such as the Valentine's concert, featuring invited musical guests. We also have an annual Christmas concert featuring our
hoir and other wonderful singers such as Jan Pedersen Schiff's Singers Marin. And Scott has created a fabulous jazz quartet called the Rock Hill Band who perform at CCC at least
nce a year.

which he performed at a worship service in January.
Our choir director Ondine Young joined our music staff on April 1, 2017. Ondine holds a doctoral degree in choral conducting and early music performance from the University of Southern California, and also studied at UC Santa Cruz and UC Santa Barbara. Dr. Young has worked as a music director at The Crowden School, Faith Lutheran Church, Marin School of the Arts, Bentley School, Oakland School for the Arts, the San Francisco Boys Chorus, and University of San Diego. Previously, she headed the choral program at the University of San Diego.
Ondine performs with various ensembles, including Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, La Monica, American Bach Soloists, Philharmonia Baroque, Musica Angelica, Sacramento Baroque Soloists, the California Bach Society and at festivals in Berkeley, Boston, Amherst, Santa Cruz, Aspen and Abbaye-aux-Dames (France). She has recorded for Musical Heritage Society, Albany Records & Focus, among other labels.
Ondine is a Berkeley native, and lives with her children Talia and Liam. Both children are talented musicians and most Sundays they join our choir at the 10:00 service. They all love to perform together when possible with their cellist father, William Skeen.
This is a wonderful time to join the choir! All all welcome.

Liam conducts the choir in "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring"
while Ondine accompanies on violin.
