CCC Outreach Ministry
"The Community Congregational Church in Tiburon, is a member of the United Church of Christ, a Family of Faith for a Global Community. One of the common bonds that all of the UCC congregations share is an old and very deep commitment to social justice, with roots in the anti-slavery struggles of the mid-19th century, and even earlier in the Puritans' vision of a just community bound together by covenant." (Written by Sherna Hough Deamer, Marin IJ, 6/4/2003.) We are an Open and Affirming United Church of Christ congregation welcoming and affirming all people including gay, lesbian and bisexual persons and their families in the life of the church.
CCC has a long history of involvement in sanctuary ministry, peacemaking, and environmental action. Currently, its projects include serving on the Board of a low income project, Hilarita, preparing meals for the Mill Street transitional shelter, providing assistance to the Adopt a Family support process, collecting and distributing Thanksgiving baskets and a monthly collection for the Food Bank, and raising funds for the Heiffer project. We also participate in the UCC denominations One Great Hour of Sharing and Neighbors in Need offerings.
