Worship Services at Community Congregational Church
A United Church of Christ

CCC is located on a hill in Tiburon, California overlooking San Francisco Bay, the Marin hills, Mt. Tamalpais and Golden Gate Bridge.  CCC blends liberal Christian Spirituality with an openness to other traditions and to the mystical and contemplative aspects of religious belief and practice.  Our style of worship is relatively informal. Our ministers do not wear robes, we have neither pulpit, nor pews, but rather sit in comfortable chairs which may face any direction in the sanctuary on a given Sunday. Our interim minister, Rev. Ken Barnes provides regular worship leadership and theological reflection.  Our talented pianist, Scott DeTurk, provides weekly music accompaniment on our Baldwin grand piano.

7:30 AM:  This quiet, more contemplative service for early risers includes a time of silent meditation, simple chants, a message, Biblical and poetry readings, and time for sharing of joys and prayers of concern.  It is held in our beautiful seminar room.

10:00 AM:  Children and youth join us for the beginning of this service which includes a Children's message. (Children then go to their classrooms with Rev. Dan White to participate in an adapted curriculum and planned activities.) This service also includes time for silent meditation, singing together, special music, a message, Biblical and special readings, time for sharing joys, announcements, and prayers of concern, and ends in a large circle where the benediction is sung.
