During this time of sheltering in place, CCC is meeting on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom gatherings. A link to join those gatherings is emailed at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Click here to subscribe to our email list. While this way of worshipping together is not ideal, it is an opportunity for us to practice love of neighbor in ways we may not have thought about before. It is also an opportunity to explore virtual ways of gathering that may have felt quite optional before. These new realities suggest that we should become adept at alternative ways of being in community. “Social distancing” need not become isolation. Together we can treat this as a spiritual practice for as long as necessary, and see what types of new ministries and outreach might present themselves for our thoughtful consideration. Above all, wash your hands; stay safe; care for yourself and those you love. We will move through this challenge and see what new things might want to be born from it.

From Our Minister
If there is one thing we have learned from the pandemic experience, it is that even in a time of physical distancing, we really do need each other. We can help each other dream bigger dreams, process our fears and insecurities, and heal the wounds of societal rage. None of this happens unless we can be vulnerable enough to ask for help. "Holy Spirit," also known as sacred wind or breath, has been theologized to the point of being unrecognizable, but the words of Jesus are simple and clear. "I am going away, and I'm sending a Helper your way." Sometimes translated "helper," sometimes "advocate," or "comforter," the idea is always the same. Divine Spirit is as close to us as our very breath ~in fact, it's IN our very breath. Spirit is the dearest Friend we've ever known, a Higher Conscious Self that is our constant Guide and Companion.
There is no greater wisdom for these interesting and difficult times than to know that we are not alone. We are far more than our physical bodies. We are at our very core timeless and infinite beings, or as the ancients might have said, "dwelling places of the Holy One." Join us in our Sunday Video this week* as we anticipate the upcoming Pentecost Season, where we celebrate the immanence of the Divine in ways that we can see, feel, hear, taste, and touch . . . and there's never been a better moment for it.
Peace to you.
David
