Sunday Video and Readings

From Our Minister

When the energies and movements in the world seem huge and daunting, we wonder if there is anything that we can do to contribute to peace, security, and positive change. We have seen the destructive force of disinformation and conspiracy theories. Now is the time to recognize the positive power of transformation.

The traditional prayer of St. Francis expresses one of the simplest routes to a world that is transformed: the sowing of seeds. We can’t plant the seeds of hate and end up with a world that is loving. We can’t plant seeds of distrust and produce the sweetness of vulnerability. We can’t plant seeds of violence and reap an era of peace. John O'Donohue reminds us that these seeds are planted in the soil of consciousness and spirit, which are the "secret sources of all action and behavior." It is in our hidden life that we become "agents of transformation."

We may not always know how to fix a broken society, but we do know how to plant a nourishing and beautiful garden. Join us Sunday and we'll choose the seeds we want to plant, water, and tend in the coming days. If we plant enough of them, we can change the world.

Peace,
David
